Tourist arrivals double between 2003 & 2019. In 2019 tourist arrivals hit a record 5.52 Million, overnight stays by tourists reached 12.9 Million whereas the number of cruise passengers transisiting, embarking & disembarking at through the port of Venice were 1.6 Million in the same year. Of course these numbers have reduced drammatically in 2020 due the Covid-19 pandemic.
